Start with the basics

Decide the age divisions, dates, format, and field count before you open registration. Those four answers drive everything else — how many teams you can take, how long each day runs, and how your bracket is shaped.

Open registration and collect payment

Give teams a simple way to register and pay in one step, and keep a clear roster of who's confirmed. Knowing your exact team count is what lets you finalize pools and a schedule with confidence.

Build pools, then the bracket

Most tournaments run pool play into a single-elimination bracket. Seed pools so the strongest teams don't meet too early, and decide your tiebreakers up front so standings are never in dispute.

Line up fields and umpires

Map games to fields with enough buffer between them, and assign umpires per game early. Mark any game that doesn't need an umpire so nobody's left scrambling at first pitch.

Make game day self-serve

Publish the schedule and live scores so families aren't asking you where and when. The less time you spend answering logistics questions, the more the event runs itself — which is exactly the goal.
